Scott Boddery
Associate Professor of Political Science at Gettysburg College
Professor Scott Boddery is an associate professor of political science and public law. The recipient of multiple teaching awards, Professor Boddery offers courses on separation of powers law, First Amendment law, judicial politics, legal policy and analysis, and American government. Before entering higher education, Scott worked at the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights and the appeals and post-conviction division of the Ohio State Public Defender. An expert in judicial politics and institutional design, Professor Boddery writes extensively for both scholarly and general audiences. His scholarship—which focuses on court legitimacy, judicial behavior, legal decision making, and U.S. executive decision making—has been published in a wide range of peer reviewed journals and has been cited in political science, economics, and law journals, including the Harvard Law Review.
